Crédit Mutuel dismasts, Dékuple has damage and Martinique Tchalian heads for shelter

At 1:21 a.m. this Monday morning, October 30, the Class40 Crédit Mutuel dismasted off the coast of Guernsey. Ian Lipinski and Antoine Carpentier reported they are well and are heading towards Cherbourg.

Following a structural problem with their boat, probably due to a collision with an UFO (unidentified floating object), William Mathelin-Moreaux and Pietro Luciani have diverted towards Cherbourg. Very disappointed after their good start to the race, the two sailors are operating in difficult sailing conditions but are doing well. When they are safely at the dock they will evaluate the condition of their Class40 Dékuple.

Hervé Jean-Marie and Jean-Yves Aglaé, on board Martinique Tchalian, have told Race Direction that they had a Starboard rudder problem. They  are diverting towards Guernsey in order to take shelter to repair
